Online Exercise Classes during the COVID-19 Related Lockdown in Germany: Use and Attitudes

Lockdown measures during the COVID-19 pandemic have led to reductions in physical activity (PA) worldwide. Leading public health organizations recommended use of online exercise classes (OEC) compensate loss regular classes. As now, no data are available on uptake OEC and users’ attitudes. The aim current survey was assess attitudes towards Germany. Respondents indicated awareness OEC, levels agreement with statements OEC. Frequency according PA status were calculated contingency tables Χ2 test. Differences between users non-users tested Student’s t-test Mann–Whitney U Data presented as percentages, Spearman correlations status, frequency use, educational attainment, age body mass index. A total 979 datasets analyzed. Of respondents, 681 aware 180, 118 84 used them <1 per week, 1–2 week ≥3 respectively. Significantly more active respondents compared less respondents.
